2020, Videoinstallation und Künstlerbuch
In ihrem Projekt „ME, MYSELF AND I“ thematisiert Loudon die Erforschung des menschlichen Verhaltens vor der Kamera und die „reflexhafte Anpassung des Menschen an die Apparatur“ (Wolfgang Brückle in „Fotografische Leidenschaften“).
Im Fokus steht die bildliche Selbstwahrnehmung und Selbstdarstellung, die oftmals unbewusst mithilfe kulturell anerkannter, ästhetisch akzeptierter und erlernter Posen als Methoden der Repräsentation verwendet werden. Es werden Fragen rund um die inneren und äußeren Anforderungen der Selbstpräsentation und nach dem Wunsch des „Wahrgenommen-werdens“ gestellt.
Ein weiteres wesentliches Thema dieser künstlerischen Arbeit ist die Bedeutung der öffentlichen Präsenz des Einzelnen im digitalen Raum, in dem das fotografische Abbild quantitativ explosionsartig zunimmt.
Die im Fotostudio inszenierte soziologische Versuchsanordnung wurde zum Ausgangsmaterial für die Videoinstallation und das Künstlerbuch.
2020, video installation and artist’s book
In her project „ME, MYSELF AND I“, Loudon investigates human behavior in front of the camera and the „reflexive adaptation of humans to the apparatus“ (Wolfgang Brückle in „Photographic Passions“).
Self-perception and self-expression are the focus of her work. Loudon questions methods of self-representation through culturally recognized, aesthetically accepted and learned poses. She investigates the inner and outer requirements of self-presentation and the desire to „be noticed“.
Another essential theme of this artistic work is the importance of the increased public presence of the Individual in the digital space, in which the amount of photographic images has risen exponentially.
Experimental sociological arrangements, staged in the photo studio, became the starting material for the video installation and the artist’s book.
